Managing Corn rootworms can be a challenging, yet essential task in production agriculture.  An understanding of the biology of corn rootworm as well as the implications is an important aspect of developing an effective management plan.  Scouting to get an accurate idea of population levels is essential to making sound management decisions.  The various options available to producers for controlling corn rootworm populations have varying degrees of effectiveness, but all have a place when used properly.  When making decisions it is also important to take into account other factors besides the current corn rootworm populations.  These include resistance management issues and the effect of management decisions on non-target organisms, especially beneficial ones such as pollinators and natural predators.
